The Spaces of Telematic Theatre: Symposium and Exhibition

In collaboration with Rob White, I have been fortunate to have designed, fabricated and programmed the telematic arrangement of linked three-dimensional spaces for “The Spaces of Telematic Theatre”.
A public event marking the end of Julian Maynard Smith’s AHRC Creative Fellowship and related practice-led and applied grants in Telematic Theatre at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama.

ODI Annual Summit 2013

In collaboration with on101, DMC provided consulting services, designed and built the stage set for the Open Data Institute Annual Summit 2013. Creating ‘data mountains’ for on101′s video projection mappings.

ODI founder, Sir Tim Berners-Lee presented a full day of talks, discussions and networking on the potential of open data for businesses, academia, government and global innovators. A luminary line-up of speakers presented a series of engaging talks on how open data sharing brings innovation, information and action.

Emovere at lab.30

Emovere, a new installation comprising a swarm of a dozen autonomous interactive robots is to be exhibited at Lab.30 Media Arts Festival, Kulturhaus abraxas, Augsburg, Germany from 25 – 27 October 2012. The robotic creatures which respond to the presence of people, inquisitively investigate the human presence expressing emotions through light and sound in response to the persons movements. In this way the robots express themselves in their own machine language in order to establish an emotional connection with the participants. Participants interact with the robots forming a generative dialogue through physical interaction in order to explore in a playful manner the complexities of human-machine interaction and the social implications of a world shared with sentient technologies and interactive robotic companions.

Real Game of Life Exhibition

6pm – 9pm Thurs 13 and Fri 14 October

MediaLab, Space Studios, 129—131 Mare Street, London E8 3RH

Openlab Workshops and SPACE Studios invite everyone to an exhibition of the Real Game of Life Project, an ongoing series of weekly making sessions where a collective of artists took on the task of creating an interactive exhibition of digital “creatures” with artificial emotions, communicating with the human world through lights, sounds and Twitter. Part art project, part communal crafting excercise, it could be described as both a conceptual work of art and a collection of “Tamagotchis on steriods”. Come see for yourself.

More information on the exhibition is available here.
